Bleak House Coffee began in May of 2012 in downtown Toledo's historical Spitzer Building. After about a year and a half of operation, the building was regretfully shut down in December 2013 and our shop closed along with it. Due to our love for coffee and our customers, we decided to launch a crowd funding campaign to reopen. The overwhelming support from customers and locals was enough to launch us into our new and improved space- 612 Adams Street- where we continue providing our community with what we love most: artisan coffee.
We are deeply committed to both our customers and our community. We have made it our mission to work with other local businesses to provide the highest quality of goods and service. Currently, we are involved with over ten local businesses and organizations, including, but not limited to: Floral Pursuit, All Crumbs Artisan Bakery, Graphite Design and Build, The Village on Adams Street, Vendome Pastry, and The Phoenix Earth Food Co-Op. In addition, we are proud to serve the legendary Intelligentsia Coffee, whose commitment to our success and education is truly empowering.
Our short term goals involve mobile expansion, continued collaboration, and the endless pursuit for the best local and organic options. Long term, we confidently look forward to serving coffee just as bright and strong as the future of our dear city.
